Volunteer for UPA 2005! |
|||
|
UPA welcomes volunteers during the 2005 conference in Montreal. To those who qualify, we offer a significant discount off the registration fee in exchange for service. Who qualifies to be a volunteer? (specified in preference order)
What are the benefits of volunteering?
What are the duties and responsibilities?
How much does it cost?The net cost for attending the conference as a volunteer is $110 ($US). Please note that you will initially be charged the $300 student registration fee. Upon the completion of your conference duties, you will receive a refund check for the difference. Refund checks will be issued approximately 4-6 weeks after the conference. Does UPA support travel and lodging?Unfortunately, UPA cannot provide travel or lodging subsidies to conference volunteers. We encourage you to share rooms at the conference hotel, and will help you find a roommate, if needed. How many volunteer slots are available?For the UPA 2005 conference, we will need at least 25 volunteers. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to full-time students. In addition, since the conference is in Montreal this year, volunteers who speak French and English fluently are encouraged to apply. How do I become a volunteer?If you would like to volunteer or would like more information, please submit an online application. Applications will be accepted thru May 15, 2005. If the available volunteer slots have been filled, your name will be placed on the wait-list. If you have additional questions, please email the Volunteer Committee Co-Chairs:
